Haas team boss Günther Steiner has ruled out that his team will repeat the success of the Brawn GP of 2009 when Formula 1 introduces new rules next season.
Brawn GP was created from the ashes of Honda’s F1 project in 2009 when the Japanese manufacturer retired from the sport around the eleventh hour before being crowned double world champion that same season.

Honda had struggled with an uncompetitive car the previous season, but had pumped resources into preparing the 2009 regulatory changes, with the Brawn car built on the basis.
There are parallels to Haas’ endeavors with the bottom tier this season, but the focus shifted to the radical changes over the next year before the season even started.
In an interview with GPFans Global, Steiner emphasized: “I don’t think it will happen again.
“Times have changed, the rules of technology are so much more sophisticated today than they were then.
“The loopholes are closed before they even become public. The Technical Advisory Board, if anyone sees something that could potentially give a team an advantage, it closes immediately.
“I see the chances of that being very slim, but never say never. That’s my opinion. Maybe someone here has the Holy Grail.”
