Haas announces the paint reveal date for the VF-21 F1 car

Haas announces livery reveal date for VF-21 F1 car

With the introductory season already in full swing and four of the 10 teams showing their updated cars ahead of the new season, Haas was the only team to announce plans.

In a social media post on its channels on Thursday, the American team confirmed that it will unveil the paint job of the new VF-21 car next week, March 4th.

Haas will start the 2021 season to recover from a difficult season last year in which it finished ninth in the Constructors’ Championship with just three points.

The team went through a number of changes ahead of the new season, including the introduction of an entirely new driver line-up following the departure of longtime duo Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen.

Formula 2 champion and member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Mick Schumacher, will make his F1 debut at Haas this year. The German driver was already in training for the team for the 2020 season finale in Abu Dhabi and tested last year’s car on the Yas Marina Circuit.

Schumacher is supported in the team by his rookie colleague Nikita Mazepin.

Haas suffered from the underperforming Ferrari engine all year round and helped to limit it, along with Alfa Romeo and Williams, to the “Class C” fight.

Although Haas is keen to take some steps forward for this year, team principal Gunther Steiner told Motorsport.com that he sees 2021 as a transition year before the new regulations for 2022.

“The car definitely has to get better because there is a pretty big change in the aero rules for next year,” said Steiner.

“I don’t know exactly where this is going and how much the others [teams] has developed.

“Next year will be a tough year anyway, but I see it as a transition and we can live with that.

“We have to survive and focus on 2022.”
