Guenther Steiner says he expects the year 2021 formula 1 Season to be another difficult one for that Haas F1 teamalthough he hopes it will be an improvement on what happened in 2020.
Haas is entering the 2021 season with a brand new driver line-up Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin They wanted to finish more than ninth in the constructors’ championship, which they achieved in 2020.
Between them, Romain Grosjean, Kevin Magnussen and Pietro Fittipaldi scored three points between them when Haas just finished before Williams Racing in the final ranking with Grosjeans ninth place in the Grand Prix of the Eifel her best result of the season.
Steiner, the Haas team principal, says the team will have to work hard over the winter to improve the car’s aerodynamic side while he’s hopeful Scuderia Ferrari can provide them with a more powerful engine for the next season.
“I know it will be another difficult task,” Motorsport.com quoted Steiner as saying. “It’s just how difficult it is – and I don’t know yet.
“But there are many factors that are beyond my control and beyond my control, and I hope those factors – I know what we’re talking about here – I hope they get better, you know?
“Of course we also have to work on our side, a lot of work. We will strive to do our best in the short time we have. That’s the only thing I can do right now, and hopefully someone else will add something to the party too. “
Teams driving up and down the paddock will not be allowed to introduce brand new cars for 2021 in order to cut costs ahead of the planned 2022 aerodynamic overhaul. Therefore, it will be difficult for Haas to improve significantly.
However, Steiner says they will do whatever it takes to improve.
“We’re working hard on it,” said Steiner. “It’s hard to tell because we started development three or four months ago. It’s not that the other people developed a lot, it’s just that we didn’t have open development because we had to manage budgets and resources.
“We did very well when we had to manage resources and budgets. I hope we can go back to those times.
“But next year it will be difficult because we are not developing from a car that is very competitive. The reality is that we won’t find out until we test in Barcelona and then in Australia when we do first qualifying.
“We’re trying to do our best, but I don’t want to promise how great it will be because I don’t think it will be that great. But as always, you try to do your best and hope that you can make up for something you lost before. “
