Haas is facing a tough season in Formula 1 after the team openly talked about shifting focus to the 2022 season. After a sensational debut in 2016, the team has been going downhill ever since. It’s difficult to look for positives on a team that has openly given up on the 2021 season and hopes to be competitive in 2022. The biggest plus for Haas is the new driver pairing Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.
The team injected fresh blood after Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen gave no results.
weaknesses
The biggest challenge for Haas is figuring out the reasons for their rapid regression. The team had the fourth fastest car on the grid in 2018, but soon fell behind in 2019.
Haas struggles to understand his car, which, depending on the track conditions, loses or increases in performance significantly.
It makes sense for the team to ditch the current regulatory cycle in order to focus on 2022. The team needs to take a closer look at its business model and its partnership with Ferrari. For Haas, the entire 2021 season could be seen as a test for 2022. This allows the team to streamline its processes and fix any management issues that are hindering the team.

The iconic “MSC” initials are back on the grid, this time with Mick Schumacher. Mick will make his Formula 1 debut this season and will try to get started, even though the reigning Formula 2 champion has a reputation for having bad debut years.
It could be argued that Alfa Romeo presented a better opportunity for the youngster to compete. At Haas, however, he can take his first steps in the series without immediately having to perform under pressure. This could be beneficial for the young German who struggled historically in the first season of every series he has raced.
Nikita Mazepin
The young Russian made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Mazepin needs to be prepared for a media setback early in the season. It would be better for Mazepin to keep his speeches by the wayside
Mazepin’s image has suffered a collapse without the Russian having yet prepared for a Formula 1 race. A video uploaded to his Instagram story shows the Russian sexually molesting a woman in his car. Mazepin has since apologized for the incident and vowed never to repeat his actions.
Mazepin will try to change his media perception by consistently beating his teammate this season.
Instructions for the pre-season test form
Haas had a solid test before the season. The team has regained lost power from last year with its upgraded Ferrari engine. Haas also had no reliability issues. It is obvious, however, that the car lacks the pace.
It will take a miracle for Haas to win points this season.
Predictions for the Formula 1 season 2021
By deciding to focus exclusively on the 2022 season, Haas has already prepared for a tough 2021. The car won’t go through any development during the season, so it won’t be a surprise that Haas is at the bottom of the pecking order from the start of the season.
