Former Haas driver Kevin Magnussen is open to a return to Formula 1, especially if it’s Mercedes or Red Bull. The Dane worked his way through the ranks of McLaren’s Young Driver Program in McLaren’s Young Driver Program and drove for them in 2014 before briefly joining Renault in 2016. Magnussen drove for Haas from 2017 until the end of the 2020 season.

Although he would like to drive for Mercedes or Red Bull, he himself considers it unlikely that Mercedes or Red Bull team bosses will call him.
Meanwhile, Magnussen’s comments suggest that he doesn’t necessarily want to make his comeback and is rather happy to be competing in the 2021 Weather Tech Sportscar Championship.

“As I said, I’m very, very happy about the opportunity I had in Formula One. Not many people have that many years in Formula 1. I’m very happy about that and I’ve had great experiences. Nevertheless, I feel new motivation and I have the feeling that it is fun again. “
Magnussen feels with his former colleagues.
Kevin Magnussen expressed his condolences to his former Team Haas. After six laps, Haas is just behind Williams with zero points in the constructors’ championship. But there were some promising signs from the Haas rookies as they posted their best F1 result in Baku, with Mick Schumacher finishing P13 and Nikita Mazepin finishing P14.
“I feel with you. They are great people. I have a lot of friends and they’re kind of family to me, so I feel for them, ”said Kevin Magnussen.

He added, “But I’m sure things will be better for them when these new rules come into effect. Basically all teams are reset there. Of course it will still be the big teams at the top, but I hope it will get a little closer. “
