Max Verstappen is to join Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll at the top of the F1 penalty points list ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Verstappen may currently trail the AlphaTauri and Aston Martin drivers by a single point, but Tsunoda and Stroll will see a point from last year’s Imola outing drop off their licenses in time for the upcoming visit.
The two will continue to drop points ahead of the summer break, however, reigning F1 champion Verstappen faces a longer wait as all his points have been picked up since last year’s Italian GP.
Ferrari and Haas are the only teams where both drivers have clean records across the last 12 months, although Kevin Magnussen, of course, only returned to F1 this season after more than a year away.
Alongside time penalties, driving infringements also carry penalty points to ensure driving standards are maintained.
These points expire after 12 months have elapsed but will result in a race ban should 12 points be accrued during this period.
GPFans has compiled a list of the points currently accrued by drivers and when they will expire. This article will be updated throughout the year.
