  • Virtual Safety Car was deployed by Verstappen’s Red Bull 15 minutes after the rubble was broken.

  • Bottas fastest in French GP FP1 as F1 returns to Paul Ricard after a year of absence and leads Hamilton in a Mercedes 1-2.
  • Several drivers test the track barriers in Turn 2, including Bottas, who damages the front wing of his Mercedes over the exit edge, and Sainz, who turns and flattens a number of softs.
  • Vettel turns in turn 11 and damages the rear wing of his Aston Martin.
