F1 Esports Series Preview Show kicks off the 2021 season

The action may still be a few weeks away, but the spiritual start of the Aramco-presented F1 Esports Series 2021 took place on Wednesday evening with the Preview Show. This special event featured all 30 drivers from the 10 official F1 Esports teams and gave us a glimpse into some key storylines for the year ahead.

With special guests like Romain Grosjean, Natalie Pinkham and plenty of F1 esports stars for 2021, the return to the streams and the drama of the championship feels so close it can be touched.

During the event, 10 brand new faces who had never competed in the F1 Esports series were revealed and mingled with a bevy of steels, veterans and race winners from the series. Let’s look at all the teams …

Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Esports Team were the first to reveal a 2020 lineup of Daniele Haddad, Lucas Blakeley and Shanaka Clay.

Uralkali Haas F1 Esports Team kept her star man Cedric Thome and recruited new faces Matthijs van Erven and Samuel Libeert, whose operations will be monitored by Romain Grosjean and his R8G Esports outfit in 2021.

Williams Sport kept her racing driver Alvaro Carreton as well as her 2020 driver Michael Romanidis and the Italian newcomer Alessio di Capua.

A third team in a row to keep a known driver, Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports keeps Joni Tormala, while he brings the new face Dario Iemmulo and the series returnee Sebastian Job.

McLaren shadow were the first of two teams to completely redesign their trio, with Dani Bereznay stepping in as their most experienced racing driver, accompanied by former Mercedes racing driver Bari Boroumand and new blood Josh Idowu.

FDA sports team have stacked their team with two champions: Brendon Leigh and David Tonizza form a superstar partnership, with series newcomer Domenico Lovece also rising.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Esports Team Reigning champion Jarno Opmeer was drafted along with 2020 rookie sensation Dani Moreno. F1 esports veteran Bono Huis completes the line-up.

Alpine esports team Keep Nicolas Longuet and Fabrizio Donoso off the 2020 squad and add Hungarian ace Patrik Sipos to their formula for this season.

Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 sports team brand new line-up features familiar and lesser-known faces with Simon Weigang, Filip Presnajder and Thijmen Schutte on board.

Ferrari’s roster consists of two former champions

And finally, reigning team champions Red Bull Racing Sport It continues with Frede Rasmussen and Marcel Kiefer as a dynamic duo, with the winner of the DHL Virtual Fastest Lap competition, Liam Parnell, taking third place in the team.

So … when can we see the teams fight?
