The 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix was added to the list of nominees in the Sports category alongside England versus France: The Autumn Nations Cup Final, England versus West Indies Test Cricket and the 2020 London Marathon, with the winners being announced on June 6th were.

Last year’s Bahrain GP was best remembered for Romain Grosjean’s massive fiery crash, which resulted in the race being stalled on the first lap when the Haas rider crashed into the barriers at Turn 3.

The force of the 119 mph, 67 G impact on the barriers caused Grosjean’s car to be split in two before it quickly went up in flames.

Miraculously, the 34-year-old Frenchman was able to escape his destroyed Haas after spending 27 seconds in the flame.

Grosjean spent three days in Bahrain hospital treating burns on his hands before being released to continue his rehabilitation from his home in Switzerland.

The ten-time podium finisher had to miss the last two races of his F1 career due to injuries. After leaving F1 at the end of 2020, Grosjean has since made his racing comeback in the IndyCar series in America.
