"Chapter 2": Rich Energy tweets photo of 2022 F1 car with their own livery; signaling a return to F1 after bizarre 2019 appearance?

Rich Energy tweeted a picture of a 2022 F1 car with a Rich Energy paint job very similar to Haas’ 2019. F1 fans on Twitter responded as best they could.

In 2019, the Haas F1 team partnered with Rich Energy as the title sponsor, a British energy drink founded in 2015 by William Storey and an anonymous Austrian scientist. Previously, Rich Energy had tried to buy Vijay Mallya’s Force India team; However, the company’s offer was turned down and the team went into administration.

William Storey and his eccentric remarks were starting to stir things up. In particular, he said that he aims to beat the energy drink industry leader, Red Bull, “on and off the track”.

Many questions revolved around the legitimacy of rich energy. Then a company called Whyte Bikes took Rich Energy to court for stealing their deer logo.

That, combined with a tweet from Rich Energy canceling her contract with Haas citing her poor performance on the track, resulted in notorious ordeal and embarrassment for the American F1 team.

After exiting Formula 1 in the middle of the 2019 season, the seedy energy drink company tried to bring its name back to relevance in sport, but was mostly ridiculed by F1 fans. Everything the eccentric CEO William Storey says about Formula 1 is taken with caution.

People even remembered the bold claims Storey made when announcing their partnership with Haas.

Can’t wait to see her head the grid and beat Red Bull on and off the track!

The internet never forgets. It doesn’t forgive either. Will Rich Energy make it back to Formula 1? Are they just trolling around to stay relevant and conversational?

We never know All we can do is maybe drink some lemon with that pinch of salt we talked about earlier and wait for the Mexican GP to hit a few coronas next week.
