Twelfth place after a season best last time in France, Williams races‘s George Russell is happy about the quick turnaround and hopes that he can continue to understand the car.
After his brilliant performance at the French Grand Prix, the Williams team moved ahead of the Uralkali Haas F1 team Outfit and ninth place in the constructors’ championship. The Red Bull Ring Has caused many surprises in the past and given the extremely wet forecasts, could Williams finally score some points this weekend?
Russell is looking forward to exciting races over the two races in Spielberg.
“I am glad that after a good result in France we are starting another week of racing. With the three good straights and some very nice high-speed corners at the end of the lap, Austria always offers great races, so despite the very short distance it is fun to drive them.
“Two races on the same track offer the opportunity to try out different setups between the two and possibly better understand the car. Overall, I’m excited to have this quick turnaround and get started! “
“France was tough for me” – Nicholas Latifi
To the Nicholas Latifi it was a tricky French Grand Prix, the Canadian narrowly missed the second qualifying and finished eighteenth in the race.
Nonetheless, the quick turnaround gives Latifi the opportunity to write some mistakes and hit the reset button to go into the Austrian double headed ball.
“I’m looking forward to the successive races in Austria. France has been tough for me so the best way to go back is to get back on track. Austria is a track where great races are generally possible. Hopefully we’ll get some of this and it can be tough on the tires so there should be some possibility there.
“With two races on the same track, we can build from one week to the next and maximize our results.”
