2023 BMW M3 Touring Debuts As A 503 HP, AWD, Grocery Getter With A Ring Record

BMW’s all-new 2023 M3 Touring is here to take the fight to the Audi RS4 Avant and Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate. Under the hood, there is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo engine developing 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, with AWD as standard. Top speed is limited to 174 mph (280 km/h), while the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) dash is dispatched in 3.6 seconds. And, of course, the M3 Touring holds the Nürburgring record for wagons.

Coupe crossovers appear to be in vogue, with Peugeot throwing their hat into the ring with the 2023 408. The 408 sits between the 308 hatch and 508 sedan in size. It follows the same concept as the Citroen C5 X, but with an injection of Peugeot styling throughout. The new 408 gets an aggressive face, and bold lines, while the engine range consists of a 1.2-liter PureTech triple that makes 128 hp (130 PS), and two PHEVs with a PureTech 1.6-liter four-cylinder, with either 148 hp (150 PS) or 178 hp (180 PS) before electric assistance.

Cars.com has released its annual American-Made Index, billed as an “independent ranking of vehicle makes and models creating the greatest impact on the US economy.” For the second year in a row, Tesla has topped the list, although this year the Model Y was victorious. Last year’s winner, the Model 3, had to settle for second place. Other Teslas in the list included the Model X and Model S, while third place went to the Lincoln Corsair.

At least two prototypes of the 2023 Honda Civic Type R have been spied on the back of a truck in Japan. The image shows that the new Type R will have a similar exhaust layout to the FK-8 model, with three pipes in the center. Twitter user ‘yamazoh’ saw the two prototypes riding on a truck on a Japanese highway after they were reportedly used for crash test purposes.

A man in California claims he’s $25,000 out of pocket after BMW allegedly kept the amount in equity following the wreck of his leased M5 Competition. The man, Alexander Russell, is seeking class-action status for himself and as many as 1,000 other BMW lessees that could have experienced something similar. He is suing BMW for misrepresentation and deceit, breach of the implied promise of good faith and fair dealing, unjust enrichment, interference with contractual relations and potential economic advantage, as well as unfair business practices in violation of California’s Business and Professional Code.

Red Bull has suspended Estonian driver Jüri Vips after the Red Bull reserve driver was heard using a racist slur in a live-streamed game. He also used homophobic language in the same stream. Vips races in Formula 2 and has driven in an F1 practice session for the team earlier this year.

Nikita Mazepin, the former Haas F1 driver, said he is suing his ex-team over unpaid salary arrears for the 2022 season. The statement was made to Russian outlet RBC, stressing that the legal case was a personal matter. The contracts of both Mazepin and team sponsors Uralkali (which is owned by Mazepin’s father) were terminated at the beginning of the 2022 season in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
