[Video] The raw V12 sound of the Ferrari FXX is brutal

The Ferrari FXX heralded the arrival of the FXX program, an exclusive club that made toys available to the best Ferrari customers only on the racetrack and support crews to run on whatever track you requested. The program has expanded to include the 599-based 599XX and the LaFerrari-based FXX-K over the years, but the FXX was the original, and as you’ll hear in this video, it was not only used for setting lap times, but also perforated eardrum developed for setting lap times.

Based on the Enzo, the FXX had a 6.3-liter V12 engine from the measly 6.0-liter engine of the Enzo, which developed 800 hp (588 kW) instead of 660 hp (485 kW). Because of this additional power, the car would reach a top speed of 300 km / h given the space. But it wasn’t just about a big engine, it was the fruit of Ferraris racing knowledge that used all of the lessons learned from a particularly successful period in Ferrari racing history to create the fastest road-car-derived circuit machine. It had 40 percent more downforce than an Enzo, a racing suspension, racing carbon ceramic brakes, and the six-speed transmission was developed with know-how from Ferrari’s F1 vehicles, with changes taking less than 0.1 seconds. A 300 kg bonkers had also been assigned.

The result was a track monster, a fast-paced, furious dancing horse with a piercing, raw V12 voice like the one you’ll enjoy with this footage from Monza in 2018. The word “brutal” doesn’t quite cover it.
