Twitter explodes when Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher Post triggers the Lewis Hamilton debate

Lewis Hamilton or Michael Schumacher? Eddie Jordan chooses the greatest F1 driver of all time

Earlier this year, the Silverstone incident caused great excitement between fans of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. However, the summer break has calmed the clashes on social media quite a bit as the entire fandom is glued back together awaiting the arrival of the Belgian GP.

During the cooldown period, Ferrari may have started another social media feud between two different fan groups. The Scuderia outfit recently tweeted an extraordinary fact about racing legend Michael Schumacher.

Ferrari pointed out that August 25, 2021, would be 30 years ago since the German set foot in the world of F1. But that wasn’t the reason for the social media war. Instead, they described Schumacher as what may have sparked many Hamilton fans.

Ferrari claimed that Schumacher was the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1. And many Hamilton admirers were absolutely dissatisfied with that. Many even started publishing Hamilton’s statistics and comparing them with Schumacher’s to prove Ferrari’s statement was wrong.

How many Hamilton fans responded to the tweet

Truly a brilliant driver, he did what he had to do to win the world championship no matter what, ask Damon Hill and a few others.
He wasn’t always cute and easy.
Lewis Hamilton really is the GOAT, however. He was never angry, always fair. And a true ambassador for F1

Revisionist whitewashed history. Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, so let’s not do it

All these Lewis fanboys! I can’t imagine Lewis winning the title with a team that hasn’t won a championship / factory championship in 16 years. He’s the “GOAT” in the GOAT of all time, with bad teammates! Period!! #fanboys #lmfao

Hopefully this dispute will be resolved at the end of the season when HAM will hopefully finish in 8th place. Generates belief in HAM’s statistics; most victories, poles, as many titles as SCHUMI & you still consider SCHUMI to be the most successful in history? It will be crystal clear soon

– skwesi (@skwesi) August 25, 2021

Statistically, Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in #F1 history.

If Lewis ’98 ever drives like Schumi, he’ll be the greatest. Otherwise he’s just a great driver, sitting in the right car at the right moment.

It may hurt you that Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver to grace our sport, but Michael certainly wouldn’t.

“Records are there to be broken” – Michael Schumacher.

Is Lewis Hamilton really the GOAT?

It should be pointed out that both Hamilton and Schumacher were racing in a completely different era. So it’s almost unfair to compare the duo, considering that the circumstances were very different. However, if one longs to know the answer, then it is definitely Hamilton.

Of course, Hamilton drove one of the most dominant F1 cars of the hybrid era. Even so, he used the advantage to a manageable extent and achieved massive returns. Three of the most important factors to compare the duo are championship titles, race wins and pole position.

While Hamilton and Schumacher are tied with 7 world championship titles, the other factors have led the Briton to lead the table by a large margin.

Hamilton already has 99 race wins and a total of 101 pole positions. Schumacher has now achieved 91 race wins and 68 pole positions. This is why Hamilton stands out from Schumacher in a statistical comparison.

But that would again be highly unfair. Instead, the best way to describe the duo is the fact that Schumacher and Hamilton are the most successful F1 drivers of their own era.
