Thrustmaster launches Ferrari F1 Replica Wheel for esports

Building on a partnership that has lasted for decades, Thrustmaster and Ferrari will once again join forces with the new wheel add-on SF1000 Edition to form a new steering wheel add-on.

According to several teasers, the new Formula Wheel add-on Ferrari SF1000 Edition is a working replica of a 2020 Ferrari Formula 1 steering wheel. You may not be Charles Leclerc, but this could bring you one step closer to that F1 dream.

It has 11 function keys as well as seven encoders and two thumbwheels that can be programmed to change various parameters in the game. These are located next to a 15-LED speed display, 6 LEDs for marshal flags and an interactive full-color screen with 109 mm.

The display can show detailed information such as tire temperatures, gears, timing, fuel and energy usage with the upcoming F1 2021 game on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox series via the Thrustmaster TM Connect web platform.

The front fairing is made of real carbon fiber for an authentic design and on the back there are shift paddles made of aluminum for activating gears and clutches. These can be exchanged with the new, separately available T-Chrono paddles and have gold-plated silver contact switches for a jump time of less than five milliseconds.

It uses the Thrustmaster quick release system, so it is compatible with the TS-PC Racer, T-GT servo base, TS-XW servo base, TX racing bike servo base, and T300 racing bike servo bases. That’s the entire T-Series minus the T500RS.

This further solidifies the ties between the controller and the peripheral manufacturer and the legendary Italian brand after Thrustmaster sponsored the upcoming Ferrari Esports Series 2021, where one lucky winner becomes the official Ferrari driver for virtual events.

The new device will be available in Europe today. To celebrate the start of the F1 season, 1000 units are now available. APAC will be available on May 18 and global sales will begin on August 26, 2021.

The price for this new wheel add-on is £ 329.99 / $ 349.99 / € 349.99 excluding the compatible Thrustmaster wheelbase of your choice. The optional T-Chrono paddles cost an additional £ 54.99 / $ 69.99 / € 59.99.
