One of the best advantages of a Formula 1 driver is probably the company car. Although Carlos Sainz has driven for four different teams in the past 6 years, he still drives his first car, a Volkswagen Golf.
The 27-year-old Sainz got the car as a gift when he was 18, but he must have felt it was time to upgrade because in the latest video on his YouTube channel he visits the Ferrari factory to have it through own prancing horse.

But although Sainz now drives for Ferrari, that car is reportedly paid for with his own money, though that probably wouldn’t be too difficult for an F1 driver’s salary. The video is very adept at keeping the exact car he is buying a secret, even though it looks like an 812 Competizione based on some selected interior shots, and in addition to all of the normal customization options like colors, moldings, upholstery, etc., Sainz is too to see how he adds his personal logo as well as his signature on the steering wheel. Then he mentions that the car won’t be ready in about a year.
After designing his car, he drives to the Fiorano test track to take out a Dino from Ferrari’s Classiche collection and then goes to a restaurant with some Ferrari engineers. We have to say this is quite a day, and to see the whole thing for yourself, you can check it out in the video below.
