Formula 1 will introduce new regulations from the 2022 season. The new regulations will allow teams to drive closer together and make it easier for drivers to follow during the race. The new rules will also introduce larger 18-inch tires compared to 13-inch tires in 2021. These tires would be less prone to wear and tear and would be much less damaging. But Aston Martin driver and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel found some defects in the new 18-inch tires during his test.

As Auto-Motor-Und-Sport reports, the four-time world champion has pointed out a few things that make the 2022 tires worse than the current 2021 tires. Vettel explained that the new tires had a massive impact on the front of the car.
“The big wheels make the front view even worse,” said the Aston Martin driver.

“All mirror mounts are in the way. The best thing was when the mirrors were attached to the halo, ”said Vettel. “With the covers and the large wheels you can no longer see the curbs,” said the former Ferrari driver while driving in the simulator.
This can also pose a potential safety risk to drivers if their vision is restricted in the car.

“With these tires you can drive longer at the limit without overheating. They are more comfortable over the curbs and offer more grip in slow and medium-speed corners. I felt faster in these sections than with conventional tires. “Said Vettel.
Everyone is eagerly waiting for the new regulation to actually come into effect next season. Each team hopes to maximize their cars to get a head start in the F1 era.
