“I have the feeling that in the first few races it was very difficult to sum up the whole weekend,” said Sainz. “There was a lot of speed, but only very rarely was I able to achieve the entire qualifying, the race strategy, the tire management, the starts and thus a very good result.

“But I feel like this has gotten a lot better lately and once I start putting weekends together I’ll be a lot more consistent and not just fast,” he added.

“I went in with confidence, but you don’t know how it will really turn out so I have to say that I’m pretty proud, pretty happy. The speed has been there since the first race, which immediately made me a little more relaxed, I knew immediately that I was very fast with this car and that I could easily improve on other things, you know, this is just the whole weekend together ” , adds Sainz.

With P3 from position 15 in Hungary and P2 from position four in Monaco, Sainz is sixth in the championship and three points ahead of his impressive team-mate Leclerc, who is entering the second half of the season.
