Carlos Sainz showed one of his best performances at the Red Bull Ring last weekend. Ferrari’s strategies with the tires resulted in team orders being placed towards the end of the race. His teammate Charles Leclerc had to hold back a fight with Daniel Ricciardo and let Sainz take his place. This proved to be a success as the Spaniard finished fifth while Leclerc was three places behind him.

Speaking recently about the team assignments, Sainz said: “We work together as a team, we push as hard as possible, we try to push the team forward. There will be races where Charles is ahead or I have to overtake him like at Portimao, that makes sense. ”Chilli is in his debut season with the Prancing Horses and has shown great potential so far. Charles and Carlos seem to make a good equation out on the track – they push their way through the crowd for points.

The teamwork of the Ferrari drivers helped the team compete with McLaren for P3 in the constructors’ championship. They are currently 19 points behind Mclaren and have many races ahead of them to close that gap.

The two drivers have taken the red team to a new level this season. After the 2020 season, Ferrari would have looked for a fresher, faster lineup, and the current pairing delivers. Sainz’s pace and tire management work well with Leclerc’s overtaking maneuvers and competitiveness. The races so far have only proven that the two Ferraris can get where they want to be.
Tifosi’s rescuers bring the team back to Ferrari’s rightful place – the top of the grid. With two drivers who, unlike McLaren’s drivers, make the grade, the team has a chance to fight for third place in the championship. It will be a close fight between the two, and as the smooth operator would say, “Vamos!”
