
After a rocky start to the season, Fernando Alonso appears to be getting back on his feet on his return to F1. Although the Spaniard took a two-year break after the 2018 season, his consistency in the last few races was impeccable.

Since the double world champion will stay with Alpine next season, he will try to end this season strong. Before the Italian Grand Prix, 2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg compared his return to Michael Schumacher’s return in 2010.

After several successful seasons at Ferrari, Schumacher retired from the sport in 2006. In an unprecedented move, however, the German returned to Mercedes in the 2010 season. Although he brought championship experience to the team, he finished behind Rosberg in all three seasons he competed.
During this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, Alonso showed incredible skill to stop Lewis Hamilton. This helped his team-mate Esteban Ocon to his first race win, while the Spaniard achieved an impressive P4 place. Now, at the start of the season, he’s showing the skills that make him one of the best drivers in the sport.

In a recent appearance, Rosberg admitted that Alonso’s adaptability after his return sets him apart from Schumacher. He said, “It’s such a pleasure because we know Fernando is one of the best ever. And especially in racing, he seems to be back in top form.
“It’s so much fun to watch. And I’ve been through it with Michael Schumacher, who came back as my teammate at 41, and Michael had a bit of an adjustment problem. He just wasn’t fresh enough to adapt to new situations thrown at him. But Fernando really seems to like it, so it’s fantastic. “

Alonso saw the end of a series of six races at the rain-interrupted Belgian Grand Prix. However, he took an impressive sixth place at the Dutch Grand Prix to restore the momentum he found before the summer break.

At the next race in Monza, the Spaniard looks to be in the best of shape, as he seems to have found his comfort zone with Alpine. And as the team has improved in recent races, Alonso will try to get more points as the battle intensifies in midfield.
