The summer break is just around the corner, so the teams have plenty of time to work out their driver line-up for the 2022 season. There is considerable speculation about certain existing riders and former favorites who might find their place on the team; Names like Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hülkenberg and some Ferrari stars in Formula 2 have been heard so far. Barretto added a few new, outrageous competitors to the long list of Alfa Seat capabilities.

Additional options for Alfa Romeo
Barretto suspected that Guanyu Zhou, runner-up in the F2 standings, might stand a chance. As a member of the Alpine Driver Academy, he tested his skills on an F1 car in Austria at the beginning of this season. The Chinese got into Alonso’s A521 and finished the FP1 session half a second behind Ocon. The Uni-Virtuosi driver has had an outstanding 2021 season so far, just five points behind the championship leaders.
Will Zhou’s F1 dreams come true so close to the top of the Swiss team?
Alex Albon, a well-known figure, was on the sidelines, waiting for an opportunity to get back on the horse. The Thai was once the second man at Red Bull; After failing to impress, Sergio Perez replaced his seat.
Accompanying Max next season is out of the question, but can he return to Alfa Romeo instead?

Barretto believes he will explore frontline opportunities after an impressive tenure as a reserve driver.
Still, most teams are waiting for Mercedes to confirm their second seat. Depending on whether Valtteri remains or is replaced by Russell, the domino effect accelerates the decisions of other teams. We’ll wait until then.
