When Michael Schumacher took the wheel in his Ferrari, the world stopped to watch the German wizard’s magic. Schumacher dominated the racetrack in the early 2000s and added five straight world titles to his existing two with Benetton. Fernando Alonso ended the German driver’s dominance in 2006.

Michael’s Ferrari chassis 229′ is being auctioned in Geneva next week. Schumacher won the championship in 2003 with his Ferrari 229. The German legend won 6 races in the season with this car and amassed a total of 93 points. He beat McLaren-Mercedes’ Kimi Raikkonen by 2 points to claim his 5th title.

According to Reuters, The red “Chassis 229” Ferrari raced by German world champion driver Schumacher nine times could fetch up to $9.4 million.”
Vincent Luzuy, an executive assistant to the director of RM Sotheby’s sales said, “It’s special because this car is one of the only four cars with more than four wins in the Ferrari history and especially with one of the most skilled driver of his generation, Michael sSchumacher.”
Michael retired from F1 at the end of the 2006 campaign. However, he rejoined the grid in 2010 with Mercedes and partnered with Nico Rosberg.
Sebastian Vettel names the “king” of F1 and it’s not Michael Schumacher
Sebastian Vettel considered Michael Schumacher his mentor in his early days. Schumacher let the former Red Bull driver pass in his last F1 race. Vettel won his 3rd straight championship in the process. Like Michael, Vettel is now mentoring young drivers to achieve their F1 dreams.

During the Mexican GP weekend, Sebastian Vettel received the honor of a delegation from the Fangio Foundation. The Aston Martin driver received a certified replica of the helmet worn by the 5-time F1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio.
The Fangio Foundation thanked the 4-time champion for accepting the prestigious award. Furthermore, it claimed it was an honor to watch him race. After accepting the award, Sebastian Vettel said, “I’m a fan of Michael Schumacher, but Fangio is a little better… The best, the king.”
Sebastian Vettel is the youngest-ever F1 driver to win the title. However, Fangio remains the oldest driver to win the championship.
