Piero Ferrari, Ferrari’s vice chairman and son of revered Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari, said his father liked current Ferrari star Charles Leclerc. He also believes Ferrari is finally on its way to returning to its earlier triumphs.

“Charles Leclerc? My father would certainly have liked him. The comparison with the past is always difficult. Gilles Villeneuve was always pure instinct. Charles is very different. He is an intelligent driver and very talented on several levels. “He has exceptional reflexes and a high level of concentration. If we can give him the right car, he will give us a lot of pleasure,” said the Ferrari heir, who owns 10 percent of the company .

Piero Ferrari was also full of praise for Carlos Sainz Jr, who joined the team in 2021. Ferrari said the team did the job, hoping the sweeping new aerodynamic changes to the F1 will reshuffle the deck and open the way for the team founded by his father to be at the forefront of motorsport again.

“Carlos Sainz has also proven to be a solid and fast young driver. We have a good team and things will be different for us in the future. The cards are being reshuffled and we must not forget that we will start from scratch with the new technical regulations for the next season, ” sums up the son of the Ferrari founder.

Ferrari is working on a new power unit that has been fixing its problems since late 2019, it has a new wind tunnel and simulator going into action, and it has a young and spirited driver line-up that seems to be working well at the moment.
