Mumbai Falcons driver line-up
Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of the current Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, is the most experienced driver on the team. The 21-year-old has had a full F3 season in which he finished 10th overall. He also took part in the 2020 Formula Regional European Championship. In the meantime, Beganovic will compete in F3 Asia for his second year in a row. The two will take part in all five rounds.
Oliver Bearman and Sebastian Montoya share the time in the third car. The German F4 and Italian F4 champions Bearman will take part in the last two rounds. For the 16-year-old, this is not only his first competitive F3 outing, but also his debut as a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Montoya will also move up from F4 to F3. He has participated in the German and Italian F4 championships in the past. Both drivers are aiming for the rookies title.
The drivers of the 2021 Mumbai Falcons F3 Asian Championship, Jehan Daruvala and Who Maini, will not return. In fact, a change in the FIA regulations does not allow any driver at F2 level to compete in the championship, which Daruvala completely rules out.
Formula Regional Indian Championship postponed
The Mumbai Falcons statement also briefly mentions that the first Formula Regional and Formula 4 Indian Championships have been postponed to November 2022. The two championships were originally scheduled to start at the end of February 2022.
