Michael Schumacher’s ex-Ferrari boss Jean Todt says the beauty of what the two have experienced continues after he admitted seeing the Formula 1 legend at least twice a month.
Schumacher is still in rehabilitation after sustaining a devastating head injury in a skiing accident eight years ago.
The German hit his head against a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps.
Schumacher, 52, had two surgeries and was placed in a medically induced coma for six months to reduce the swelling in his brain.
After waking from a coma in 2014, he was finally transferred to another hospital and allowed to return to his home on Lake Geneva after 250 days.

Little is known about his current state, but his former boss at Ferrari still sees the seven-time world champion at least twice a month.
Todt told the Italian outlet Corriere della Serra: “I won’t leave him alone. [his wife] Corinna, the family – we have had so many experiences together. The beauty of the experience is part of us and it goes on. ”
In September 2020 Todt spoke to PA about his good friend and insisted that he was still “fighting”.
He said, “I saw Michael last week. He’s fighting.
“My God, we know that he had a terrible and unfortunate skiing accident that caused him a lot of problems. But he has a great wife by his side, he has his children, his nurses and we can only wish him the best and also Wishing the family all the best.
“All I can do is be close to them until I am able to do something, and then I’ll do it.”
About a week later, the leading neurosurgeon Erich Riederer gave his prognosis for Schumacher’s condition in a documentary on the French television broadcaster TMC.
He said the German was probably in a “vegetative state” and did not respond to his family.
“I think he’s in a vegetative state, which means he’s awake but unresponsive,” he said. “He breathes, his heart beats, he can probably sit up and take baby steps with help, but nothing more.
“I think that’s the maximum for him. Is there a chance to see him as he was before his accident? I really don’t think so.”
According to Schumacher’s wife Corinna, there have been few updates on the F1 star’s condition at her husband’s own request.
But there are confirmations that Schumacher is still under treatment in the hopes that one day he can return to a more normal life.
Todt previously told Ouest France: “I am very discreet on this subject. We all know that Michael had a very serious accident and unfortunately it had serious consequences for him.
“Since then he has been treated so that he can return to a more normal life.”
