Mercedes has released a teaser video of its new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season amid rumors that lead driver Lewis Hamilton is pulling out of the sport.

While they have successfully defended their constructors’ title, the mood in the Mercedes camp will undoubtedly have been gloomy after the final race of the 2021 season after Hamilton painfully missed out on the eighth record world title.

The Englishman gruesomely missed defending his Formula 1 title in Abu Dhabi after being overtaken by rival Max Verstappen on the final lap, but the goal was undoubtedly controversial.

Hamilton lost a comfortable lead with one lap to go after FIA Director Michael Masi made the controversial decision to let a safety car pass several lapped cars between the Englishman and Verstappen.

This enabled the Dutchman to go head-to-head with the seven-time world champion when the two fought one last round of competition for the title, which Verstappen won thanks to a fresher set of tires.

“Because we are exposed to random decisions. And it’s clear that you can fall in love with a sport if you question all the work you’ve done, all the sweat and the tears and the blood. ”

Then he added, “I really hope Lewis keeps racing because he’s the greatest driver of all time.”

Despite Wolff’s worries, it seems like he and his Mercedes team may get lucky after motorsport.com claimed Hamilton will actually stay for 2022, joining new teammate George Russell.
