Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz failed as both drivers to crack the top 10, which resulted in the race ending empty-handed.

Therefore, F1 CEO Ross Brawn believes he knows exactly what went wrong with Paul Ricard’s Italian team. However, he expects the team to sit down and analyze what went wrong and come back strengthened.

Ferrari needs to understand where they went wrong and be better next time, Brawn

In his column, Brawn wrote: “It was a surprise to see how Ferrari struggled after having performed in the last two grands prix. Your qualifying speed was decent and, to be honest, I don’t know where that led in the race.

“You have to go out and find out what you did wrong because it is not okay with your recent performance. It was a very strange result, but I am sure you will come back

“In my experience, both on the track and in the factory, the team members want to understand what went wrong. If you can give it to them, they can keep their spirit. “

He added, “If you come back and say, ‘Sorry, we don’t know what happened, let’s see what happens in the next race,’ it certainly won’t be what you want to hear.

“My answer would be to tell the staff, ‘Give us a few days to find out what happened. It’s the first of a triple header so there are two more races on the go and that makes it difficult.

“Most teams have experience of having one or two really bad weekends. I expect Ferrari engineers to sit quietly, find out why this loss occurred, and help the team understand it in order to keep morale up, ”he concluded.

How has your performance in France affected your constructors’ standings?

The Scuderia looked hopefully at the French Grand Prix as Sainz started in fifth place and his teammate Leclerc was in seventh place.

From then on, however, things went downhill, with Sainz crossing the finish line in twelfth and Leclerc in sixteenth, one lap behind.

The drivers couldn’t score any points this weekend as none of them failed to make it into the top 10. They lost third place in the championship to rival McLaren.
