And when it finally happened, fans naturally breathed a sigh of relief after seeing most of the hybrid era dominated by Hamilton. The fights were all respectful until the British Grand Prix, where Hamilton knocked his rival on the barriers and spiced up the rivalry.
There have been several incidents since then, including the one in Monza.

And this left fans wondering if the incidents on the track caused the duo’s friendship to take a vicious blow. According to Lewis’ father, Anthony Hamilton, the answer is “no”.
What did Anthony Hamilton say?
In an interview with talkSPORT, Hamilton looked at senior Ferrari and McLaren drivers as an example. All 4 drivers have a good relationship off the track, but there is no room for camaraderie in racing. Instead, it’s all about rivalry.
“This is called competition. If you’re too kind to your competitor, you’re giving the gas a little too much. Between the two McLaren drivers and the Ferrari drivers, you just have to look further down yesterday. These guys are friends, ”he said.
Anthony also referred to the incident between Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz in Austin, where the latter described the former’s move as “bad”.
“This is racing. Outside of the field you are very friendly. When you are in combat, everything is fair in love and war, ”added Anthony.

Overall, the rivalry is not over yet. And it will certainly intensify when we move into the final phase of the season. Given the much greater danger of crashing that lingers over the two rivals, will their camaraderie actually turn towards hostility at some point this year?
