The F1 summer break has kicked off after the Hungarian GP and the drivers are all jet-setting on vacations. Lewis Hamilton has picked Namibia as the country for his travels this summer break. The Britton flew to Southern Africa to recharge and revitalize ahead of the season’s restart at the Belgian GP.

Hamilton landed in Namibia and then took a chartered flight to Sossusvlei, one of the country’s major tourist attractions. Sossusvlei is a stunning salt and clay pan surrounded by red dunes, situated at Namib-Naukluft National Park in the Namib Desert.
The 7-time world champion’s visit will attract major attention to the remarkable destination, giving it a major publicity boost.
Hamilton enjoyed a stellar few rounds ahead of the break, finishing on the podium on each of the last 5 races. He will be hoping to continue this fantastic run of form once F1 resumes in Belgium and look to secure that elusive first win of the season.
Lewis Hamilton feels Mercedes can join the battle at the front alongside Ferrari and Red Bull
Mercedes have seen a major mid-season revival with their performance seeing a major boost. The Brackley outfit has seen a podium finish in each of the last 5 rounds with Hamilton; even securing double podium spots at France and Hungary.

Speaking about the last race in Hungary, Hamilton believed the team had the potential for a victory. The Briton said, “I think this weekend, there was a potential for a win. You saw George on pole. I think if we had both been up there, I think we probably could have worked a bit better together as a team.”
However honestly remained about their chances at the front of the grid and said, “This is the first time we’ve been able to fight and battle with a Ferrari. That’s huge for us. I think the Red Bulls are probably still ahead.”
