While the RB18 of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez is still ten kilos overweight according to the latest stories, the Ferrari F1-75 of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz is now almost rid of its excess weight. At least, that is what is being said at the paddock in Italy.
Ferrari was particularly fast in the rain during the first session of the weekend in Imola. The Scuderia was no less than 1.5 seconds clear of rival Max Verstappen and the lead over the other drivers was even greater. It must have been largely due to the rain, because Ferrari, unlike all the other teams, took no updates.
Ferrari almost at target weight
Auto Motor und Sport now reports that the team, on the other hand, did bring some updated parts. It is possibly an explanation why Ferrari found some more time. This is because the modified parts are a lot lighter. According to AMus, the F1-75 that was five kilograms too heavy at first is now almost no longer too heavy and has almost zero kilograms overweight. While Red Bull still has to lose ten kilos, Ferrari seems to have arrived at the desired weight.
#AMuS reports that Ferrari did not bring any upgrades to Imola but they brought lighter parts to reduce the weight of the F1-75.
The F1-75 was around 5kg above the minimum weight and with the lighter parts it almost close to zero now #ImolaGP
