Michael Schumacher sat behind the wheel of the Jordan 191 for the first time at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix. The young driver replaced the imprisoned Bertrand Gachot in the team and became a partner of the experienced Andrea de Cesaris. The 22-year-old driver finished seventh in qualifying, but the car’s clutch failed in the main race. As a result, Schumacher did not reach the finish line, but the young German later became a seven-time F1 champion and won five of them in a Ferrari – a total of 91 wins in 306 races.
Immediately after the 1991 season, the racing car was sold to a Belgian collector who owned the car for the next 14 years. The current owner of the Jordan 191 has participated in numerous themed events. For example, the car was presented at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood and at the Masters Historic Race Weekend exhibition earlier this year.
