Although the Formula 1 2021 season may not have come to an end just yet with a rather epic title challenge continuing to ensue, we already know how the 2022 grid will look ahead of next year’s season.

With Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton continuing to engage in a battle for the top spot, many will be tuning in to the final handful of races set to take place in the Middle East to see who will come out on top as the season reaches its final stage. This season has provided punters with a number of opportunities to get involved with betting on Formula 1, as so much action has taken place on the racetrack that has caused plenty of excitement whilst some rather unpredictable events have also happened that will have kept viewers incredibly interested.
However, whilst it is important to remain completely focused on the here and now that is happening, especially with a couple of races still to go, many can already look ahead as the 2022 grid has been confirmed following recent news to have been broken.
What will the Formula 1 2022 grid look like?
Indeed, there have been a number of changes to the grid, with a couple of new faces appearing, whilst there will also be some of the most established drivers in the motorsport turning out for a new team after changes were made.
Of the 10 teams that continue to compete, seven have opted to remain for the same pairing as the current season, whilst three teams – Williams, Mercedes and Alfa Romeo – have either been forced into making changes or have opted to freshen things up.
Here is how the Formula One 2022 confirmed grid will look:
● Mercedes – Lewis Hamilton & George Russell
● Red Bull – Max Verstappen & Sergio Perez
● Ferrari – Charles Leclerc & Carlos Sainz
● McLaren – Lando Norris & Daniel Ricciardo
● Alpine – Fernando Alonso & Esteban Ocon
● AlphaTauri – Pierre Gasly & Yuki Tsunoda
● Aston Martin – Sebastian Vettel & Lance Stroll
● Williams – Alex Albon & Nicholas Latifi
● Alfa Romeo – Valtteri Bottas & Guanyu Zhou
● Haas – Nikita Mazepin & Mick Schumacher
What has changed?
As already highlighted, there are three teams who have decided to make changes to their lineups for the upcoming season, with some having been forced into making the moves that they did.
Mercedes are actually one team that perhaps the only team that did not see their hand pushed and decided to act of their own accord and, by doing so, perhaps one of the most exciting teams on the F1 grid. Of course, the seven-time World Champion (who could potentially be an eight-time World Champion by the time the 2022 campaign starts) Lewis Hamilton will remain with the team, however he will be joined by one of the best upcoming stars of the sport in George Russell, thus creating an all-English pairing.
Williams is the unfortunate team to have lost Russell in the move, therefore they were required to find a replacement and have since signed Alex Albon and provided him with a quick return to the sport after losing his seat at Red Bull Racing last season to Sergio Perez. He will be teaming up with Nicholas Latifi, with the Canadian retaining his seat.
Lastly, Alfa Romeo is another team that has decided to go a new way and have opted to bring in two new faces to their team, with an extremely experienced individual taking up the helm alongside an F1 novice.
Kimi Raikkonen’s retirement meant the team were required to act, thus bringing in veteran Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes and signing Guanyu Zhou, who will be the only rookie on the grid for the upcoming season. Zhou will also make history as he will be China’s first full-time Formula One driver.
Record-breaking season set to take place
It is not only the F1 grid that will look different for the 2022 season, as next year’s edition is set to feature a record-breaking 23-race calendar for the very first time, which is set to start in Bahrain on March 20 and finish in Abu Dhabi on November 20.
It should be noted that the 2022 calendar is still very much provisional, but barring any issues, it is going to follow the following layout:
● 20 March: Bahrain (Sakhir)
● 27 March: Saudi Arabia (Jeddah)
● 10 April: Australia (Melbourne)
● 24 April: Emilia Romagna (Imola)
● 8 May: Miami (Miami)
● 22 May: Spain (Barcelona)

● 19 June: Canada (Montreal)
● 3 July: Great Britain (Silverstone)
● 10 July: Austria (Spielberg)
● 24 July: France (Le Castellet)
● 31 July: Hungary (Budapest)
● 28 August: Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps)
● 4 September: Netherlands (Zandvoort)
● 11 September: Italy (Monza)
● 25 September: Russia (Sochi)
● 2 October: Singapore (Marina Bay)
● 9 October: Japan (Suzuka)
● 23 October: USA (Austin)
● 30 October: Mexico (Mexico City)
● 13 November: Brazil (Sao Paulo)
● 20 November: Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina)
