Ferrari had some busy years behind it and built a world-class simulator that should succeed the famous “Spider”, which has been offering its services for around 7 years.

Construction of the new simulator began in 2019, months before the cost cap came into effect. And now, after almost 2 years, Ferrari has finally completed the project that is ready to support the development of the 2022 F1 car as well.
While unveiling the news on their newly built simulator, Ferrari’s supply chain manager Gianmaria Fulgenzi also revealed the name given to the Ferrari F1 car project in 2022.

What is the name of Ferrari’s F1 car in 2022?
It’s not uncommon to hear the news that Ferrari named their car. The Reds are known to give their cars a project number followed by a chassis name. Last season, the Maranello outfit assigned the number “673” to their 2020 challenger, which was later revealed as the SF21.

In an interview with Ferrari, Fulgenzi revealed that the name of the 2022 project will be “674 Project”. Once the project is 100% complete, the team will reveal its official chassis name.
“This project took two years to complete. And now we are ready to use it on the 674 project, the name of the car that will be produced on the basis of the new technical regulations that will come into force in 2022, ”he said.
Does Ferrari have the upper hand in F1 developments in 2022?
The 2022 F1 car will bring significant changes in technical regulations, which are also the largest since 2014, when the F1 ushered in the hybrid era. So, in order to benefit from this change, Ferrari decided to build the simulator and managed to complete it in August 2020.

However, a lot of data had to be added to the simulator. This was primarily intended to improve the Sim’s compatibility in the development of the 2022 F1 car.
