
Ferrari was probably the best improved team of the 2021 season. The Italian team finished third in the constructors’ championship after their miserable 2020 season. Team principal Mattia Binotto said he was satisfied with the progress made by both drivers.

He reviewed Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s season and mentioned that both drivers pushed each other. Binotto pointed out how both drivers have improved over the season.

As Planetf1 reports, the performances of Leclerc and Sainz have impressed Binotto in 2021. He first gave a seasonal analysis of Sainz’s performance, as it was his first season with Ferrari.
“I think his results speak for themselves. In 20 of the 22 races he was in the top 10 and managed to finish every Grand Prix. We decided on him because of his points ability, and he confirmed this quality on the field, ”said Binotto about Carlos Sainz.

While Leclerc ended up behind his new teammate in the drivers’ standings, Binotto was impressed with Leclerc’s improvement since joining the team in 2019.
“Charles has continued to grow as a driver. His talent and speed are just as undisputed as his ability to complete important and flawless laps in qualifying. He has also grown in his approach to racing, in his understanding and management of the tires as well as in his management of the race, also from a strategic point of view, ”said the Ferrari team boss

“The vote is 8 for both of them,” said Mattia as he assessed both drivers for the 2021 season.
Charles outperformed his team-mate throughout the year, but Sainz was more consistent and finished the drivers’ championship 5.5 points ahead of Charles; Sainz finished in P5 while Leclerc was P7.
With both drivers pushing each other, Ferrari could be a strong contender for the title in the 2022 season. Let’s see if they continue their progress next season.
