Scuderia Ferrari is ready to release Mission Winnow as title sponsor for the 2022 F1 season. The team is still negotiating with Philip Morris International (PMI) about the continuation of the partnership.
The Mission Winnow logo has appeared on Ferrari F1 cars for the past two seasons. Parent company PMI claims Mission Winnow is a “way to advance new technology,” but it’s still unclear what exactly the initiative is. The move was criticized in 2018 for bringing tobacco sponsorship back into F1, which has been banned since 2006.
Binotto: “You were our title sponsor and if you look at how we register our team for the next championship, it’s no longer Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow, just Scuderia Ferrari.

The official name of the Ferrari F1 team is now Scuderia Ferrari, not Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow. Team boss Mattia Binotto has confirmed that the team is still in talks with PMI and is considering extending its partnership in sport. He said to The Race:
“You were our title sponsor and if you look at how we register our team for the next championship, it’s no longer Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow, just Scuderia Ferrari. I think that’s quite simple as an answer. Still, there are many ways we can work with them and keep them as partners. At the moment we have various options on the table and we are still in discussion, and that will hopefully remain as a strong partner, but it will still take a few days and a few weeks. “
The team from Maranello also brought Santander back on a multi-year contract, with the bank sponsoring the team from 2010 to 2017. The bank logo will appear on all team items, including racing suits and hats.
Ferrari finished P3 in the championship, easily defeated McLaren
The Italian constructor comfortably finished third in the 2021 constructors championship, beating rival McLaren by almost 50 points at the end of the season. Consistent points scoring by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc and the lack of equal points for McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris helped the team from Maranello to easily outperform the team from Woking.

Carlos Sainz clinched his fourth podium of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix amidst all the safety car chaos. The Spaniard finished fifth in the drivers’ championship in his first season at Ferrari. The 27-year-old has extended his record to 14 races, making him higher than anyone else on the grid.
