Ferrari F1 coach believes that "emotionally detached" Binotto is the need of the hour for them

The bright red cult cars of the Scuderia cannot help but exude a feeling: passion. Jock explained the difference between the British teams and Ferrari on Beyond the Grid –

“Passion is the right word for what you see when you see what’s going on at Ferrari. When they win and when they don’t, there is a lot of energy that is not in the British teams … Perhaps the strength of the British teams is that they have the ability not to get too emotional. “

Jock then says that emotion is Ferrari’s kryptonite. “The passion that drives Ferrari is what they have to overcome.” According to the coach, it is the emotions that block the decision-making process. “The tool you need is to stay emotionally detached from what is going on so you can make good decisions.”

But there is a moderator; According to Jock, this is where the team boss comes into play. “Then comes Mattia Binotto, who is probably Swiss enough to just let go of emotions.”

Successful start for Ferrari thanks to Binotto

Ferrari is currently third in the constructors’ championship and shares the position with McLaren. Ferrari’s performance had declined in recent years mainly due to a lack of pace. However, this year the Italian team has improved tremendously and Mattia Binotto has to pay tribute.

So far, so good, the Prancing Horses have come a long way this season. Given that Binotto’s main goal was to finish in the top three by 2021, the team hasn’t failed to impress.

Binotto even predicted their battle with McLaren: “I think McLaren will be very strong again – they’ve got an upgrade of the drivetrain, so overall I think it’s going to be a difficult feat but I still believe that we as a team as a minimum goal “should try to achieve.”

Binotto and the team kept the goal in mind and worked hard to achieve it. Except for a few hiccups, Ferrari has had a successful season so far. But will the momentum continue until Abu Dhabi?
