The FIA has issued a technical guideline that will go into effect when F1 returns to Paul Ricard in June to prevent teams from gaining an unfair advantage through flexible aerodynamics.
While Red Bull was at the center of the “Bendy Wing” saga, teams like Ferrari will also be forced to make changes due to the tougher stress testing.
Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto doesn’t think the forced changes will have a significant impact on the team’s performance on the track.
“Yes, we use it,” said Binotto. “I think because all teams somehow take advantage of what is possible and what we think is right.
“The technical guideline will be further specified. We have to adjust slightly, but I don’t think it will affect Ferrari much – and certainly very, very little in lap time from what we’ve seen, but it just takes a few redesigns that have to be somehow carried over to to meet the requirements fully on the technical guideline. Again, I think it doesn’t matter much to us as Ferrari, but it still needs to be redesigned. “
Some teams like McLaren and Mercedes have voiced their dissatisfaction with how long it will take for the more stringent tests to come into play. The teams are allowed to continue their Flexi-Wings in Monaco and Baku.

Conversely, Ferrari accepted the ruling and understands why the FIA had to take action.
