After the qualifying session, Leclerc said: “Well, I was expecting more than 7th place, but on the other hand yesterday’s race pace was very, very good. That’s why we didn’t want to sacrifice the race pace today to bet better in qualifying.
“In my opinion, P7 was the best result we could achieve today and yes, we will start from there tomorrow,” explained Leclerc.

Can Leclerc move up for Scuderia in Austria tomorrow?
The driver with starting number 16 seemed to be struggling in the first two practice sessions at the Red Bull Ring. He found himself in tenth place in FP1 and fell back to thirteenth in FP2.

However, he improved his time in the last practice session, but not as much as he wanted as he finished seventh on the timesheet. And later in the day he found himself in the same spot after the final qualifying round.
The 23-year-old hopes to bring in his A game for tomorrow’s race and to make up a few places as the race progresses. He remains optimistic about scoring some good points for the Maranello-based team battling for promotion to the constructors’ championship.
