MARANELLO: The Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has presented two new special editions of its V12 supercar – the 812 Superfast: Competizione and Competizione A. Both cars are expected to have a limited edition.
Under the hood, both the 812 Competizione and the 812 Competizione A share a drive train similar to the 812 Superfast. The optimized 6.5-liter V12 now screams at 9,500 rpm and develops 820 hp. The twins were both put on a diet with several weight loss changes made.
The main improvements, however, concern the distribution and the cylinder heads, both of which have been completely redesigned. The cams (which are now DLC coated) now act on the valve stem via DLC coated steel sliding fingers, drawn from Ferrari’s F1 experience and specially designed for this engine to provide a higher lift profile.
On the outside, the 812 Competizione has a custom paint job inspired by the company’s historic racing cars. This paint job is also accompanied by certain stylistic elements on the hood to give the car a cleaner look.

Both the 812 Competizione and the 812 Competizione A are equipped with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission that takes the latter’s performance to a new level and gives the V12 a new shift feel. By calibrating the control strategies, the switching times could be reduced by a further 5 percent.
The 812 Competizione A, on the other hand, is a Targa top. This means it loses the traditional hard top in exchange for the wind-in-your-hair experience. The car is intended as a tribute to all of the open tips that the dancing horse has made in the past.
In terms of interior design, the 812 Competizione has remained faithful to the 812 Superfast, maintaining the same general parameters and main interfaces for the dashboard and door panels, including its signature “Diapason” motif.

Directly in the central area of the cockpit there is a connection between Ferrari’s past and future. The iconic theme of the geared gate gets a modern twist here. This is the first time it has appeared on a V12 car and reflects the spirit of the 812 Competizione and the brand’s tradition.
The Targa upper is made of carbon fiber to create a sense of aesthetic continuity with the roll bars. In the open configuration, it is stowed in a compartment with the same design as the Targa itself. If you can stow the hood at any time, you can enjoy the car to the full in all weathers.
