Well, in the midst of the ever-growing basketball craze across the western continent, F1 decided to serve the interest of American fans. Days after NBA team-inspired custom liveries were revealed on social media, F1 confirmed a basketball tournament for the drivers and possibly the team bosses at the Circuit of The Americas.

And this led to a video starring Ferrari’s team boss Mattia Binotto that went viral on Twitter. The Italian took part in a basketball challenge back in 2019. In the video, Binotto can be seen shooting basketballs into the basket with absolute ease.

What is the basketball challenge about?

Formula 1 recently announced that the drivers will take part in a free throw challenge on Thursday ahead of the press conference. And the winner of the challenge will also receive money for charity.

“On Thursday, October 21, F1 teams will compete in an off-track free-throw challenge on the basketball half-field for the 75th anniversary of the NBA in the paddock of the Circuit of The Americas,” the statement said.
