Carlos Sainz finishes his first season with the legendary Italian team Scuderia Ferrari. The Spaniard has had one of his best seasons in Formula 1 so far and is currently in a sensational 13-race series of goals, longer than anyone else in the field in 2021. Sainz is currently just 6.5 points behind his teammate Charles Leclerc who is currently in his third season on the team.
Sainz shared his views on the long-awaited streak, admitting that while it would be satisfactory, it could have been in a better position. This is what the Ferrari driver said:
“Could have been more. Just because I actually finished 11th in the other two races in which I didn’t score, I think.”
In the 2021 season, Sainz has scored points in 18 out of 20 races and secured P11 in Portugal and France. In addition, he has secured 3 of 4 podiums that the Scuderia Ferrari team has achieved this season.
The phenomenal consistency of Carlos Sainz in his first season at Ferrari
After two very successful seasons at McLaren, Carlos Sainz parted ways with his beloved squad to join the red Scuderia Ferrari team. To everyone’s surprise, Sainz has played one of his most consistent seasons to date and has contributed significantly to the team’s battle with McLaren for third place in the constructors’ championship.
This is what Carlos Sainz says about his season and where he thinks he stands:
“So far it’s been a good season. Consistent. Maybe not as flashy as I would have liked, I think in some cases, but we still got the three podiums, we still have a lot of points and I still am a good place both in the drivers ‘championship and for the team in the constructors’ championship. ”
