F1 22 is less than a month away, and today we got a sneak peek into the new car models and liveries.
As most F1 fans know there were significant changes happening between season 2021 and 2022 in Formula One.
Every 5 to 10 years, the cars take major changes as the sport grows, and the next change was scheduled for 2021, but because of the situation with the COVID-19, it was postponed to 2022. This ongoing season started with brand new carswhich introduced a lot of new changes to the cars, allowing drivers to follow up with other drivers more closely.
Those changes included:
- A switch to 18-inch wheels
- F1 aerodynamics redesign
- Safer cars
- Heavy cars
- culmination of four years of hard work
All that contributed to the new phenomena called porpoising, an aerodynamic problem that affects cars that use venturi ducts to generate downforce through the ground effect.
Codemasters already announced that the porpoising physics will not be included in this year’s game, but the new car design will and we got screenshots for the 7 out of 10 teams.
Check out the leaked liveries in the gallery below.
Aston Martin F1 22 model
From the looks of it, all cars are using the same model with different liveries, as we can see seedpods present in a Mercedes car. Car models also seem a bit off from the actual car, but these menu pictures might not reflect the actual in-game cars, as we saw different car versions used in trailers for Ferrari and Haas.
The standard edition of the game will release on July 1, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
