Ferrari is the largest company in the sport and has often spoken out against the introduction of a budget cap. But in 2019, after they named Binotto team boss at Ferrari, he made it clear that aggregates are a financial problem in F1.

“We cannot do any activity on test stands because the unit costs too much” – Binotto

Speaking to racingnews365.com, Binotto mentioned that Ferrari is a healthy company, and even after the pandemic, it’s healthy. He also commented on the expenses in the current Formula 1 and why aggregates are so expensive.

“But we still know that the expenses in Formula 1 are too high at the moment and will no longer be affordable in the future because it doesn’t make any sense. It’s that simple, ”said Binotto.

He added, “If you look at the device for yourself, it costs six times more than the cost of a single device when it was normally vacuumed today, and I think it doesn’t make any sense. We used to be able to do a lot on the test benches because the engines didn’t cost too much. “

Binotto also mentioned why it has become impossible to work on dynos for development in F1 –

“Today we cannot afford such activity on the test bench just because the unit is too expensive. I think we have to cut costs because by reducing costs there may be more opportunities for development in the future. “
