Formula 1 is traveling to the Sochi Autodrom for the penultimate time this weekend for the Russian Grand Prix.

Since its introduction to the F1 calendar in 2014, Mercedes has been unbeatable and has won every race.

Max Verstappen received a three-place penalty for this weekend after his collision with Lewis Hamilton. So Red Bull could decide to buy him a new engine and start him from the end of the grid.

This is the case with Ferrari, where Charles Leclerc starts the race from behind on Sunday due to engine penalties.

What can you expect this weekend?

Pirelli has nominated the C3, C4 and C5 tires for this weekend – the softest in its range.

Dry conditions are expected on Friday, while Saturday and Sunday are expected to rain.

Ahead of the weekend, Pirelli’s Mario Isola said: “We have seen in the past that there have been many different strategic considerations, with all three connections at the start of the race and different tactics during the Grand Prix. Last year, the soft C5 performed better than expected and the grain was reduced across all mixes between free practice and the race due to the high track development. In the past, some riders have even tried a very early switch to the toughest mix and tried to run to the end, but last year this wasn’t entirely possible as the tarmac these days is mature and not as smooth as it was in the Past. With the extra rubber on the track from the very busy schedule of the support races this time, the track development and grip should be further improved. “
