In addition, the four-time world champion visited an incineration plant to raise awareness of the topic of waste management. Looking at his actions, the former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher praised the Aston Martin driver for his “garbage collection” at Silverstone.

However, the brother of the 7-time world champion was dissatisfied that Vettel could not collect any points on the route. Vettel was well on its way to securing decent points for the team, but then came the spin, which was Vettel’s game stopper.

What did Ralf Schumacher say?

As Motorsport-Total reports, Schumacher would have been very happy if Vettel had come home in the top 10 at Silverstone.

“I thought it was great that he picked up the rubbish. But I would have been happy if he had also collected a few points, ”said Schumacher.

Before the spin, Vettel was well in the top 10. At the restart in lap 4, however, Vettel collapsed under pressure from Fernando Alonso. In the end, the German turned around the old pit lane and dropped from a healthy P6 to the last place on the grid.

That may have sabotaged his race as he was stuck in the middle of a much slower field. Despite desperate efforts, Vettel failed to get his car into the top 15.

Therefore, after a few laps, Aston Martin Vettel ordered his car to be abandoned and ended the rather heartbreaking race prematurely.
