Aston Martin team boss Otmar Szafnauer hopes that the British challenger will attract more attention on the racetrack. The British team, arguably the most eye-catching brand in Formula 1, failed to attract the attention of fans on television. But once Force India and Racing Point – the green team has no intention of going back to pink.

“Let’s think about a different shade for 2022. Of course we will continue to appear in green. Aston Martin is traditionally green, and that’s how fans associate the racing cars. “
But why green?

“With a name like Aston Martin and Aston that is traditionally green, I would think it will stay green,” said Szafnauer. This is because of the history associated with the British Racing Green shade.
What is British Racing Green?
We associate certain colors with certain nations – red with Italy, orange with the Netherlands, orange-green with Ireland, etc.
While they certainly represent the country’s culture, they also help differentiate cars on the track.
Racing was not allowed on the roads of Great Britain so the motorsport community turned to Ireland, which was then part of Great Britain. It linked the green island with the green racing car, a nod to the traditional Irish green.
At the 1903 Gordon Bennett Cup, national representatives were given different colors and the UK stuck to its green livery. So the traditions continued; Car manufacturers from England put their racers in green. That included big names like Bently, Jaguar, Vauxhall, Lotus and now our own Aston Martin.
Aston Martin & their first F1 season
There is a story about the first green car. They gave the number 13 to a Frenchman; it was bad luck for his compatriots. To build on some luck, he painted his car green.
Will the Aston Martin’s green livery bring them luck this season?
So far you have seen veteran Sebastian Vettel, who clinched your first podium with a breathtaking P2 result in Baku. He pushed his car to the limit to collect points.

Lance Stroll worked hard with the car aside from a couple of accidents, but just not enough. So far he has scored 14 points for the team. This isn’t a number to scoff at, but Lance brings so much untapped potential to the team. In time, we may see it improve.
“I think the color green suits us, that’s for sure,” concludes Szafnauer. It sure does. The color green would certainly make for wonderful pictures that sit nicely parked in Parc Ferme.
