1. F1 wants Imola’s sprint racing plan to be finalized
F1 hopes to finalize its sprint qualification proposal in time for the next race in Imola. The changeover to the weekend format will follow this year in Silverstone, Monza and Interlagos.
After lengthy discussions between the teams and F1 bosses, a breakthrough financial package deal has reportedly been reached that paves the way for the plan to finally get the green light.
2. Allison moves to a new role in the major Mercedes reshuffle
Mercedes has announced a major redeployment of its technical department for Formula 1, with the current technical director James Allison taking on a newly created position as technical director from July 1st.
Mike Elliot is promoted to take on the role of Allison after he moves away from his day-to-day responsibilities to focus on longer-term planning, with a revision of F1 regulations in the pipeline.

5. Aston Martin signs F1 ‘Super-Sub’ Hulkenberg as reserve driver
Aston Martin has appointed Nico Hulkenberg as F1 reserve and development driver for the remainder of the 2021 season.
After losing his last full-time F1 drive with Renault in late 2019, Hulkenberg acted as a super sub for the Aston team when it became known as Racing Point in three races in 2020 when its drivers were COVID-19 positive tests were excluded.
6. Grosjean has a seat attachment prior to the farewell F1 test
Romain Grosjean’s farewell F1 test has come a step closer to what’s happening after a recent seat adjustment.
The former Haas driver will be retiring from the race in one of the F1 cars of the Mercedes World Championship to really say goodbye to the sport. The Frenchman had to miss the last two races of his career because of the burns he sustained in his terrible, fiery fall at the Bahrain Grand Prix last year.
