Vettel “very wise” with feedback on the Aston Martin F1 car

Stroll was joined by four-time F1 world champion Vettel in the renamed Aston Martin team for 2021 after leaving Ferrari.

Vettel quickly got used to his new surroundings, left a positive impression on the team and brings title-winning experiences to the squad for the first time.

It’s also the first time Stroll has worked with an F1 drivers championship winner. Vettel previously said that he is happy to provide guidance and act as a mentor.

Stroll and Vettel began their working relationship on three days of testing in Bahrain last week when Aston Martin made its public debut for the AMR21.

When asked by Autosport about his first experiences with Vettel during the test, Stroll said he could already record his experiences through his feedback on the new car.

“He’s very knowledgeable when it comes to the behavior of the car, what he wants from the car, and only his comments are very wise,” said Stroll.

“He has a lot of experience and is obviously a very talented driver. But it’s still early. I’m sure I’ll get to know him a lot better over the next few weeks when we start running and at the same time be on the track doing similar programs.

“We’ll likely be able to refer to each other’s comments, give our feedback, and have a much better idea of ​​what we’re both talking about.”

However, Stroll found that the feedback and experience from his experience on the team and with the RP20 car that this year’s AMR21 evolved from also worked in the opposite direction.

“I’ve had a couple of years with this team, so I’m definitely much more familiar with this car and the way it works than he is,” said Stroll.

“He’s still up to date with a lot of things and learns a lot about how this team and how this car works, a lot of new buttons, a lot of new things that are going on for him.

“We’re in different positions, but I’m sure we can lead this team in the right direction and get the best out of the car this year.”
