Sebastian Vettel is preparing for his second season at Aston Martin. The four-time world champion had a difficult first year with the English team, with just one podium (in Baku). The German is hoping for more next season.

For years Vettel drove for top teams, first Red Bull and then Ferrari. He lost his fun with the Italians, which even led to rumors that the German wanted to quit. He rediscovered what makes Formula 1 so fun at Aston Martin, which is looking to seriously challenge the top teams over time. “I think the team is great. I really enjoy working with the team and I think it’s obviously a big change,” Vettel told the official F1 website.
As much as he’s in place, it hasn’t yielded great results (yet). “The whole team and myself, we hoped for more. I think we were hurt quite a bit by the rule changes as the team had a great car [in 2020] but not [in 2021], so we did what we could.”

On February 10th, Aston Martin will launch the car for 2022. The expectations for this season are there. “There have been some ups and downs but obviously high hopes [2022] with the new car, new regulations and the growing and hopefully getting stronger team,” added Vettel.
