Twitter reacts to Aston Martin’s mega-mistake when Vettel slides around like a skater at the Turkish GP

A strategy can break or break an F1 weekend, and Sebastian Vettel experienced just that at the Turkish Grand Prix. When the four-time world champion raced through Istanbul Park, he pitted for a set of slick tires when the track was still wet.

And as expected, the German slipped across the entire racetrack in the end. Aston Martin realized his mistake and soon called his driver back into the pits for intermediate tires. So it was no surprise to see the world of Twitter explode with memes taunting the strategy of the Silverstone-based team.

Many were surprised when Vettel decided on slick tires because the track was still wet. As soon as the German left the pit lane, he was without a handle. He was soon called back in the advanced box and, as expected, social media were ready to respond to their disastrous strategy.

One of the key mistakes on his disastrous weekend was the decision to switch to slick tires when the track was still wet. With the lack of grip the tires offered, Vettel found himself back in the pits for the intermediate stage. When the flag ended the race, the German had to be content with an eighteenth place on the grid.
